ADA Playground

Four students are playing on the four-seater teeter totter

Several years ago, students in the school for the blind began advocating for the need for an accessible playground on campus which would provide inclusive play for all students. Last year a playground committee was formed, and a design plan was developed and executed, and on Aug. 28 CSDB held a ribbon ceremony to celebrate the opening of our new ADA compliant playground on campus. The playground offers a myriad of play opportunities for all students and features a main playground with a tower, specialized wheelchair accessible swing and merry go round, a scooter and bike track, a variety of swing options, and sensory play activities. Our students love the new playground. Below are a few pictures of students caught in action.
