CSDB is actively seeking qualified Substitute Teachers and Temporary Aides interested in a rewarding part-time/temporary positions.

Substitute Positions:

Temporary Aide Positions:

  • Temporary Aide (works as a classroom assistant and/or in the residential programs)

Substitute Teacher: Employment as a Substitute Teacher requires a Colorado Educator License or Substitute Authorization. Since CSDB is an accredited school, all our faculty members need to hold (or be eligible for) an appropriate license or authorization. Coach (Substitute): Employment as a temporary Coach requires a current, valid Colorado Educator License or Substitute Authorization. For further information regarding licensure, please visit the website for the  Colorado Department of Education – Educator Licensing / Services.

Temporary Aide:Per Colorado constitution, a temporary employee may work for the State no more than nine months in a 12-month period. The 12-month period is not defined as a calendar or fiscal year, but a rolling 12-month period that begins with the month of the first day of work for the temporary assignment.

Please include:

Current Resume (including references).
Recent Letters of Recommendation (with signature).
Copy of a valid State of Colorado Driver’s License (if applicable).
Copies of Transcripts (If applicable to verify education).
Copy of Teacher Certification/Substitute Teacher Authorization (if applicable).

High School diploma or equivalent and successful experience working with children or youth required. Prefer experience with Deaf/Hard of Hearing (HOH) children, American Sign Language (ASL) skills or experience with Blind / Visually Impaired children.

A temporary employee pays state, federal and local (if applicable) taxes, Medicare tax, and contributes to the Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA). They also receive paid sick leave and Workers’ Compensation coverage. A temporary employee does not receive health/dental/life insurance benefits and does not receive annual/holiday or other leave benefits. Temporary employees are called to work on an “as-needed” basis; there are no set hours or guarantee of hours.
