Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind Joins the Rocky Mountain E-Purchase System

The Facilities Department was busy this summer improving our campus:
- Sealed & restriped asphalt parking areas
- Installed Emergency Notification System (Banners/Lights) at Lions & EEC
- Changing Lions into the Blind & Deaf School Media/Library Center
- Repaired the Gym floor
- Made mechanical system improvements in Brown Hall and the Steam Plant
- Orientation & Mobility improvements at multiple crosswalks
- Made landscaping improvements and removed a few unsafe trees
- Completed Adams & Stone braille signage/reprogramed fire alarms
- Made Gottlieb AV system repairs and Adams lighting repairs
- Made Gottlieb & Industrial roof repairs
- Installed new dishwasher in Argo

Controlled maintenance and capital construction
- In June, we requested FY23 funding: $1.9M for an ADA accessible playground, $572K for security improvements and $17.4M for the West Hall Renovation/Addition for the Blind School and Early Education Program
- We are currently working on the following designs for Summer 2023 construction
- Gymnasium Phase I & II (fire suppression, ADA bathrooms, asbestos abatement, new flooring, perimeter fencing and HVAC)
- West Hall Roof Replacement & Industrial Roof Repair
- Argo Roof Replacement
