All Things ASL!

The Outreach programs have a lot going on!

Colorado Shared Reading Project (CSRP) ASL / BOOKS had  FUN-FILLED online classes during the winter (Jan – Mar 2022).  The kids enjoyed watching the books in ASL and making new friends online! The families enjoyed learning more about classifiers, role shifting, and how to explain emotions more in depth! The families report that this kind of class really helps increase confidence in their ASL skills, and in their story reading skills as well!  Fifteen families participated between the two classes.  The Spring ASL / BOOKS online classes are happening now!

Tele-ASL classes,  CSDB in collaboration with The Resource Exchange (TRE), taught by Kim Parra offered two classes for Level 1 during the month of Jan – March 2022, had total of 16 families including families from rural areas.  Fun fact – Tele-ASL classes are trilingual (English, Spanish, ASL).  Five Spanish speaking families in attendance with a Spanish-speaking interpreter.  We are currently offering Level 2 for 7 TRE families.

ASL Immersion for Educational Professionals  Outreach Programs host educational professionals for an AMAZING immersion experience 3 to 4 times a year. The most recent immersion was held April 9 on the CSDB campus with 35 professionals attending the event.

Community ASL Classes happen 3 times a year.  The spring session began the week of March 28 with 85 participants split into 6 classes.
