Colorado Low Vision Evaluation Clinics
The CDE/CSDB Colorado Low Vision Evaluation Clinic for the Western Slope region was recently held in the Grand Junction, hosted by Mesa County Valley School District #51. Low vision evaluations are scheduled for students from 5 administrative units who will be accompanied by their parents and teacher of students with visual impairments (TVIs).
The Colorado Low Vision Evaluation Clinics are funded through the Colorado Department of Education’s Exceptional Student Services Unit (CDE ESSU) with additional in-kind support of the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB). These funds allow for clinic team members to travel to five regional sites during each school year: Colorado River BOCES, Eagle County School District, Mesa County Valley School District #51 (Grand Junction), Pitkin County District 1 (Aspen), San Juan BOCES.
The 90-minute clinic evaluations are at no cost to families or school districts other than personal travel expenses of getting to and from the clinic site.
