Happy smiles were found everywhere at the Sunflower Farm , recently. for more than 200 people who attended the event! The Early Literacy Team in the CSDB Outreach Department hosted the state-wide community event near Longmont, for children who are deaf and hard of hearing, birth through age 8, and their families. These events promote language and literacy skills while providing social and connection opportunities for families. The families enjoyed feeding farm animals, sledding on the woodchip hills, exploring the farm, and imaginative play in a real airplane and playhouses! Bonecrusher, our CSDB bulldog mascot, made surprise appearances several times during the event and delighted the children with high fives and fist bumps. The families enjoyed the food truck, ASL story times and role playing the story. The event was wrapped up with families roasting marshmallows over the bonfire which lasted through the evening.
