Residential-Working in the garden
CSDB Student Life residential students participate in different activities after school. The high school boys’ dorm were thrilled to help supervisor Kim with a spring garden clean up and to feed the garden with new soil and seeds. The dorm students always love to help clean up and dig in the dirt.
The middle school and high school girls’ dorm thought they could go to the garden, but it was raining outside so they decided to stay in the dorm and plant strawberries in pots. They learned how you can grow from a “mother” plant. The “mother” produces “daughter” plants and that where their nodes touch the soil is called the “crown”. They are looking forward to seeing strawberries grow soon.
