School for the Deaf photo competition

Written by Rachella Ortiz, School for the Deaf Art Teacher

In the School for the Deaf, high school students enjoyed photojournalism class. Before school let out for the summer, students learned about creating reflections and mirror images through the use of water, black surfaces or actual mirrors.  After taking the photos, students' work was displayed in the school lobby and submitted into the school photo competition. Congratulations to Yoleth, who used a mirror to create the reflection of teens walking along the banks of an illusionary lake! She won a photo book of nature's quietest places. Kudos to all students who entered photos - they are beautiful!
