Skiing at Crested Butte

Students, in the School for the Blind, just returned from our annual ski trip with the Adaptive Sports Center, in Crested Butte, CO. The trip focused on Recreation and Leisure, Orientation and Mobility, Independent Living Skills, and Self- Determination which are all components of the Expanded Core Curriculum for the Blind. Students set and achieved goals while on and off the mountain. Some highlights from our trip include learning to control speed through French fries and pizza (ski positions), riding the chair lift, mid-day snow ball fight, taking the town bus to dinner, celebrating a birthday, and of course SKIING!! A big thanks to the Adaptive Sports Center for a wonderful experience!
