Southern Colorado Construction Career Day 2024
Bridges to Life students attended the Southern Colorado Construction Career Day on September 12th at the Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs.
The students experienced operating an excavator, and other construction machinery, riding up lifts, and exploring a fire truck and cement mixer.
They participated in making items made of sheet metal, wood, and metal pipes. There were demonstrations on how heating and air conditioning work in a home. The Colorado Springs Fire Department was there showcasing their alarm system that notifies the fire department of a fire or emergency.
Many trades and professional careers were represented at the expo. Students were able to ask questions about education, training, and qualifications needed to work in the construction industry.
