Superintendent Message 5-16-22 English transcript

Hello Bulldog Community.  A big thank you to the Board of Trustees for providing ice cream for our staff last week.  This week will be another busy week at CSDB!

Program Updates (Seniors and Employability Center)

  • Each of you work hard to benefit students’ lives and aren’t you curious about what’s next for the Class of 2022?
  • In the School for the Blind, Thallen is going to E. New Mexico University for business classes, Alicia will attend Heartland Baptist Bible College and Jonah? Well, we know he is going to college for computer science.

  • In the School for the Deaf, Marie is headed to Gallaudet University and Gideon was accepted there, too. Adriana is choosing between Pikes Peak Community College and Front Range Community College. Several Seniors are going into the workforce and several are going in the CSDB BtL program.

Let's celebrate for the success of our Seniors!! Thank you to everyone on campus who has made an impact on our seniors’ success.

  • The Employability Center Bridges to Life and Post-Secondary programs, hosted many community business partners and agencies during last week's Employer Appreciation event. Kudos to the EC team for their hard work on getting this set up.  The programs work endlessly throughout the year, to match businesses with student interests and help students be successful on the job. Recent examples include three students working at UCCS in carpentry, warehouse and grounds, a student at Nothing Bundt Cakes, another group of four at the Marion House, and two at the ReStore. Bemis School of Art, Third Space Coffee and U.S. Lawns are three more of nearly thirty other businesses this year who support our goals to give students job skills! All of this is made possible by the work of the EC team. Congratulations and thank you to our community partners!
