1941
- Girls' Hall was torn down and a new building providing housing (75 beds) for blind and deaf girls, was built In 1946, the building was named Brown Hall .
1950
- The School Building caught fire and burned to the ground.
1952
- Gottlieb building, which replaced the destroyed academic building, was completed.
1954-1962
- Roy M. Stelle was appointed Superintendent.
- Superintendent Stelle proposed preschool training for deaf and blind children.
- Since 1874, 1,464 students had been enrolled in the School for the Deaf, while 665 students were enrolled in the School for the Blind.
1957
- The Infirmary (Student Health Center) replaced the hospital cottage.
- The Dairy Farm was sold.
